Gov’t announces increase in pension starting next year

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili says that pension will increase starting 2022 and for individuals under 70 will be set at 260 GEL, while  for persons aged 70 and over at – 300 GEL.

“The amount of pension in highland settlements will be 312 GEL for people under 70 years old, and 360 GEL for people aged 70 and over, ”Garibashvili said.

The monthly state assistance for  war veterans will also increase.

“The monthly assistance of 22 GEL and 44 GEL for war veterans will increase to 100 GEL. The budget for the management of Covid 19 is set at 500 million GEL. We also provide 114 million GEL for the construction of houses for IDPs. It will be 21.8 billion GEL, “Garibashvili stated.
