The Georgian government has decided to change COVID regulations for public and private kindergartens, stating that a kindergarten will not be completely closed if someone tests positive for coronavirus there.
Georgian health officials say that ‘risks will be evaluated’ and a decision on the closure will be made only after.
They say that, for instance, if a kid tests positive for coronavirus, his/her class will be closed for two weeks and not the whole kindergarten.
The whole kindergarten may be closed, for instance, if a teacher will have a contact without a facemask with a group of other teachers.
Georgia has reported 1,527 new cases of coronavirus, 4,588 recoveries and 46 deaths in the past 24 hours.
40,747 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.
