Tbilisi Mayor, Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Kakha Kaladze, said Friday that the Georgian Dream authorities remained faithful to the country’s pro-Western course, but noting that the authorities would react to “insulting statements, rezolutions”.

“The Georgian authorities have not created any problems for the path we have taken – it is the path that involves Georgia joining the European family. Of course, we are consistent, we will follow all the reforms to be implemented and steps to be taken, which must be done on this important and difficult path. .

“We have not made any deviations. However, when wrong statements are made, offensive resolutions are adopted, of course, there will always be a reaction from our side”, Kaladze said.

The Georgian Dream condemned the European Parliament resolution in June, which called for sanctions against the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream, pointing at “running the country from the backstage” and Ivanishvili’s alleged contacts with the Kremlin.
