Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Monday opened an army camp in Kojori, near Tbilisi, and said the project being implemented by the country’s defence and education ministries was expected to promote “healthy lifestyle, right, family-based values” in the youth.

In his address, the PM claimed the project would also raise the awareness of the youth of the domestic  military service and “boost “ their “patriotic attitudes” after practical training and meetings with experienced servicemembers.

He stressed promoting the “right values” was necessary from the “very beginning”, from kindergartens and schools, amid “temptations and challenges” sparked by ongoing  globalization to the youth.

Garibashvili noted the camp would host 800 schoolchildren this year – 100 in each rotation – until the end of August.
