The Georgian government has plans to activate green passports starting December 1, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated earlier today.

The green passports will allow privileges for fully vaccinated individuals, while others will have to present a negative PCR or rapid tests performed in the past 72 hours to access various facilities, including: restaurants, cafes and bars and their  open and closed areas, cinemas, theaters, opera, museums, concert halls, entertainment centers, casinos and gambling establishments, spas, gyms, hotels and cable ways on mountainous resorts.

This requirement will apply only to visitors to the facilities and not their employees.

The full list of the facilities will be available in the coming days.

The regulation will work for individuals over 18.

Garibashvili reiterated that he is against mandatory vaccination which is a ‘rough interference in human rights.’

Georgia reported 2,191 new cases of coronavirus and 74 deaths in the past 24 hours.

51,382 remain infected with Covid-19  in Georgia as of today.

2,005,229 individuals have been vaccinated in Georgia since March 2021 of which 952,831 have been completely vaccinated.
