Government committed to resetting relations with US – Georgian PM

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze of Georgia on Friday underscored the government’s “dedication to resetting and enhancing relations” with the United States in his annual report to the Parliament. Against the backdrop of developments since 2020, Kobakhidze emphasized the strategic significance of deepening ties with the US for Georgia.

“The Government of Georgia is committed to contributing to the resetting of relations with the United States of America,” said Kobakhidze. “We anticipate constructive steps forward in our bilateral relationship.”

Kobakhidze highlighted the importance of strong Georgia-US relations, describing them as “strategically vital” for the country’s interests.

“The development and deepening of Georgia-US relations is strategically important for our country,” Kobakhidze affirmed.The US this year imposed sanctions on unspecified Georgian officials for the adoption of the controversial foreign influence transparency law, urging the Georgia Dream authorities to steer the country back on its Euro-Atlantic path.
