Officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, from the Guria Police Department and the Lanchkhuti District Division, have detained three individuals on charges of illegally crossing the state border of Georgia as a group.

According to the investigation, the detainees - Turkish citizens S.I. (born 1983), K.K. (born 2006) and S.K. (born 1986) - bypassed an official border checkpoint and unlawfully entered Georgian territory from the Republic of Turkey.

The case is being investigated under Article 344, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages up to five years of imprisonment.
