Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze says that the general epidemiological situation in the country is ‘satisfactory,’ while several regions of the country still record high numbers of daily infections.

Tikaradze stated earlier today that the situation has become more or less stable in Tbilisi and the Adjara region, while, for instance, in Samegrelo region daily coronavirus cases are still high.

She said that the government is doing its utmost to curb the spread of the virus.

Georgia has reported 1,698 new cases of coronavirus, 1,910 recoveries and 38 deaths in the past 24 hours. 22,635 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.

6.46 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

The government has plans to allow in person-studies studies when the infection rate goes down five percent.
