Health Ministry announces launch of seasonal flu vaccination

The Georgian Ministry of Health on Monday announced the launch of the seasonal flu vaccination throughout the country.
Vaccination against flu will be given free of charge to risk groups, which include people with diabetes, those on dialysis, individuals with hepatitis C (only those on treatment), persons with HIV infection/AIDS, persons with organ transplants and cystic fibrosis, elderly persons aged 60 and older, pregnant women, school teachers, beneficiaries of children’s (including small family type) and old people’s shelters and their caring staff, medical personnel subject to mandatory vaccination.
Georgia has purchased 200,000 doses of Abbott Biologicals B.V. four-component vaccine, the Ministry said.
