Anna Natsvlishvili, an MP from the Lelo for Georgia opposition party, on Friday said that “history will judge those who helped Georgia on its European path, also those, who were creating obstacles for the goal”, following the PM’s speech in the state legislature.

She suggested that the PM’s address did not include the account to the thousands of the country’s population, who stood in central Tbilisi prior to the EU decision on the country’s membership candidate status, “with the sole purpose that Georgia should become a European state”.

“How many European capitals have you been since this historic window opened for the country, how many prime ministers and presidents have you met? How many visits have been made by them to Georgia? How many countries have the country’s foreign minister visited to lobby for Georgia’s European integration?” the MP asked the PM.

She stated that adopting legal changes were not enough for the country’s membership candidate status.
