The Home to Europe movement, which has recently organized two large-scale rallies in Tbilisi and is now demanding the resignation of PM Irakli Garibashvili and new Cabine, called on the country’s Interior Ministry on Thursday to ensure safety at its events.

The movement has accused the Georgian Dream authorities of “deliberately disturbing” its events and “organizing attacks” on its members.

“Today, the public movement Home to Europe will hold a meeting with students. The public discussion will be led by Shota Digmelashvili and Giorgi Kadagidze in Dedaena Park at 16:00,” said the movement, urging the ministry to ensure safety.

It stated that “through the attacks on our members” the current government attempted “to create an illusion that there are two opposing wings in the country over Georgia’s European integration.”

“This is not true, as the vast majority of Georgians wish for the country’s European integration,” said the movement.

The next rally by the movement was scheduled in Tbilisi on July 3.
