‘I have a daughter under oath not to speak about domestic politics’ – former head of UNM, MP Vashadze

Former head of the United National Movement opposition party and independent MP, Grigol Vashadze, said on Friday that he has his daughter under oath not to speak about domestic politics, in response to a question whether he planned to re-run for the head of the party. 

He claimed that he was “completely unaware” of the ongoing political developments

Several UNM members on Thursday demanded new elections for the party leadership, with the incumbent chair Mika Melia expressing readiness for this, but slammed the party members for the “unexpected briefing”. 

The ruling party representatives claim that there is an internal controversy inside the largest opposition group.
