Ilia Tsulaia, founder of the company Archi, has organised a private flight to repatriate Georgian citizens stranded in the Middle East due to regional instability.
In a social media post, Tsulaia said the 120-seat aircraft would depart from Muscat to Tbilisi at 16:00 on 3 March. He confirmed that approximately 70 citizens who had already been contacted would be on board, leaving space for an additional 30-40 passengers.
“Attention to Georgian citizens stuck in the Middle East: today, 3 March, at 16:00, a private flight arranged by me and my friends will depart from Muscat to Tbilisi. We confirmed the charter late last night. For those in Muscat who can reach the airport by 14:00, please contact our travel agent, Avtandil Kusrashvili (+995 577 38 50 65), and we will bring you back to Tbilisi free of charge,” he wrote.
Tsulaia also explained that he and his family are currently in Dubai and travelling by car to Muscat to board the flight. He apologised for the short notice, noting that the flight was only confirmed late on 2 March.
He reminded citizens that the Georgian government is also operating a flight from Muscat to Tbilisi at 23:00 on 3 March, and those who prefer the government-arranged option should contact the Georgian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates.
“Wishing everyone safety and a smooth journey home,” Tsulaia added.
