An information centre for Ukrainian nationals on Friday opened at Tbilisi airport with the support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies the Georgian Red Cross Society, where Ukrainian nationals will be informed about the services available to them in the state, as well as providing psychosocial assistance and, if necessary, ensuring hygiene items for first aid.

“In addition, the presence of information corners will contribute to the gathering of information about the needs of arriving from Ukraine, based on the analysis of which further activities of the Georgian Red Cross Society will be determined in order to respond to their requirements. The project also envisages arrangement of spaces for Ukrainian children tailored to their needs and care for them”, the Georgia Red Cross Society said.

Andriy Kasianov, the charge d’affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, stated that such centres were expected to open at Tbilisi and Batumi airports, as well as at the Larsi checkpoint in north Georgia.

The diplomat thanked the organisation for its “dedication” to Ukrainian citizens affected by Russia’s ongoing aggression and the Georgian government for extending a socioeconomic support package for Ukrainian nationals stranded in Georgia due to hostilities for six months.
