Interior minister hails foreign partners’ support for developing cybersecurity

Georgian interior minister Vakhtang Gomelauri on Wednesday hailed the support from the country’s foreign partners, from the European Union, the United States, NATO and the United Kingdom, for strengthening domestic cybersecurity capabilities.
In his address at the Georgia CyberSecurity Forum in Tbilisi, the official said the government approved the country’s cybersecurity strategy in 2021 and was now implementing its action plan with an “intensive engagement” of foreign partners.
He also thanked prime minister Irakli Garibashvili for his “steps and contribution” to developing the field.
In his address at the forum, Garibashvili highlighted “tangible development” of the field over the years, as well as “successful cooperation” with foreign partners.
