Interpol-wanted ISIS member arrested in Rustavi, Georgia

Georgia’s State Security Service has announced the arrest of a foreign national in the city of Rustavi, who was wanted via Interpol for alleged ties to the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS).

According to the investigation, the individual traveled to the Middle East in 2014 and joined ISIS, actively participating in the group's operations. The Counterterrorism Center of the Security Service reports that the detainee is a highly qualified explosives expert with combat experience and has been responsible for key tasks within the terrorist organization.

Authorities also stated that during the search of the suspect, various pieces of evidence were seized, including electronic data storage devices.
