Georgian Defence Minister holds introductory meeting with Turkish Ambassador

Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani has held an introductory meeting with Turkey’s newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia, Mustafa Türker Arı.
Chikovani congratulated the ambassador on the start of his diplomatic mission and wished him success in his future work. During the meeting, the Georgian defence minister highlighted Turkey’s significant contribution to the development of Georgia’s Defence Forces, including material and technical assistance provided by Ankara.
The two sides reviewed ongoing cooperation in the defence sector in both bilateral and trilateral formats and discussed prospects for future collaboration.
The talks also focused on regional peace and stability, as well as the strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey and ways to further deepen ties between the two countries.
