Chikovani is visiting Qatar at the invitation of his counterpart and, in turn, invited Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to visit Georgia

Georgia’s Vice-Prime Minister and Defence Minister Irakli Chikovani has met Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during an official visit to Doha.

According to Georgia’s Ministry of Defence, Chikovani thanked Qatar for its support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The two ministers underlined the importance of bilateral relations and expressed hope that the positive momentum in ties between Georgia and Qatar would continue to deepen. Specific areas of cooperation in the defence sector were discussed, aimed at further strengthening relations between the two countries.

Chikovani is visiting Qatar at the invitation of his counterpart and, in turn, invited Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to visit Georgia.

As part of the visit, the Georgian defence minister also attended an international military exhibition held in Doha.
