Member of the parliamentary majority Irakli Kheladze has said Denmark criticises Georgia over democracy and human rights while using force against demonstrators in its own country.

Kheladze stated that the Danish authorities should provide clarification regarding the police response to protesters

“In recent times, Denmark has been very critical towards Georgia, attempting to lecture us on democracy and human rights protection, while treating demonstrators in this manner in its own country,” Kheladze said.

“This indicates that today European bureaucracy has turned into mere decoration. We call on the Danish authorities to provide clarification regarding this incident,” he added.
