Georgia’s parliamentary majority leader, Irakli Kirtskhalia, has said the country’s economic indicators continue to grow annually, which he attributed to the Government’s policies.
Speaking at a briefing after a parliamentary majority meeting, Kirtskhalia said discussions focused heavily on economic issues and Government plans.
“We discussed economic data, which traditionally, fortunately, as a result of our policies, continues to grow year by year. Even if we look at this quarter alone, economic growth is already higher than last year,” he stated.
Kirtskhalia also highlighted the work of the parliamentary commission studying prices and inflation-related issues.
“As you know, the parliamentary commission studying prices has completed its work. Society has already become familiar with its conclusions and the recommendations addressed to the executive authorities,” Kirtskhalia said.
He noted that the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze discussed both short-term and long-term plans in response to the commission’s findings, as well as the executive branch’s own assessments and parallel work on pricing issues.
“We discussed these matters in detail,” he added.
Kirtskhalia said updated economic growth figures for the current quarter would be announced officially once published.
