Parliamentary majority leader Irakli Kirtskhalia has called on individuals involved in the events that took place near the presidential palace on October 4 to acknowledge their actions and take “constructive steps”, following reports that six more detainees will reach plea agreements in the case.

“I call on everyone who participated in these dirty games and who has realised where they were and what they were doing against the country to fully acknowledge it and take constructive steps,” Kirtskhalia said.

According to the ruling party lawmaker, those who encouraged activists and other citizens to engage in actions that allegedly violated the law largely remained in the background while others faced legal consequences.

“The people who pushed many activists and misled citizens towards these very serious violations, which we can clearly see today, were themselves hiding in the background or in their homes. At the same time, we see that in a functioning state, the organisers and instigators of destruction and an attempted coup are being held accountable,” he said.
