Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said 2025 was a “record-breaking” year for the country in terms of both tourist visits and passenger traffic.

Speaking at the presentation of the Tbilisi International Airport expansion project, Kobakhidze said the importance of expanding the airport is underscored by the strong performance of the tourism and aviation sectors in 2025. He noted that Georgia recorded 5.5 million tourist visits last year, marking a “historic high”.

Kobakhidze also said that all three of Georgia’s international airports served a total of 8.5 million passengers in 2025, another record figure.
