Georgia’s economy is expected to reach 114 billion lari in 2026, surpassing $11,000 per capita, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on Thursday, noting that the government aimed to exceed the official 5% growth target.
Reflecting on last year, Kobakhidze said economic growth reached 7.5%, exceeding both initial and revised forecasts, with the economy surpassing 100 billion lari and per capita income exceeding $10,000 for the first time. By the end of 2025, Georgia’s economy stood at 104 billion lari.
“While the 2026 budget is based on 5% economic growth, we believe we will outperform this target again. Our goals are even more ambitious, supported by significant reforms implemented over the past months, particularly within the Ministry of Economy and state enterprises. This allows us to make even more optimistic growth forecasts,” Kobakhidze said.
The Prime Minister stressed that ongoing reforms provided a solid foundation for sustained economic expansion and higher per capita income in the coming year.
