Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, on Friday said the country’s 2028 parliamentary elections will be conducted under the existing electoral legislation.

Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze said the government was giving a “guarantee” that the current legal framework would remain in place for the vote scheduled for 28 October 2028.

“The 2028 elections will be held under the legislation currently in force. We give this assurance to everyone,” the PM said.

He added that the existing electoral legislation was “fully in line with international standards”.
