Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday said the country had recorded the highest economic growth rate in Europe over the past five years, citing an average growth figure of 9.3 per cent and crediting the Government’s economic policy framework.

Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze said the country had established an appropriate environment for economic activity, supported by what he described as sound economic policy, relevant legislation and low taxes.

“An average economic growth rate of 9.3 per cent over five years has not been achieved by any other European country. All this ensures that Georgia maintains high positions in international rankings,” the Prime Minister said.
