Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has described his visit to the United Arab Emirates as highly productive and forward-looking, saying it is expected to bring concrete benefits to Georgia in the future.
Speaking to journalists in Abu Dhabi, Kobakhidze said the visit included meetings with representatives of several major global companies that have expressed interest in investing in Georgia.
“It can confidently be said that the visit was very productive. We held meetings with representatives of several companies, some of the world’s largest and most well-known firms with clear investment interests,” the Prime Minister said.
He noted that Eagle Hills is already implementing an investment project in Georgia, while discussions were also held with DAMAC, another globally recognised company, on expanding cooperation in various areas. Kobakhidze added that particularly important talks took place with Abu Dhabi Ports, which is already implementing an ongoing project in Georgia - the Tbilisi Dry Port - and has recently launched the second phase of the project. He said discussions also covered deepening cooperation with the company in other directions.
The Prime Minister also met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, who, according to Kobakhidze, pledged full support across all areas of cooperation. He emphasised that Georgia’s key objective is to further develop bilateral relations between the two countries, their governments, and representatives of the business sector, stressing the importance of the UAE president’s personal support.
In addition, Kobakhidze addressed a central event within the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit, where he spoke about Georgia’s plans in the energy sector and in the area of regional connectivity.
“Overall, I can say that this was a very interesting and productive visit, which will yield concrete results for our country in the future,” Kobakhidze said.
