Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has met with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Tbilisi, marking a historic visit aimed at strengthening political and economic cooperation between the two countries, the Government press office said.
During the meeting, leaders highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral relations. Kobakhidze described Sheikh Mohamed’s visit as “of special importance,” noting that it would further deepen Georgia-UAE partnership.
“Today is a day of particular significance for us. For the first time, we are hosting a UAE delegation led by the President, which is a great honour. Your visit signals your interest in our country, which we greatly appreciate,” Kobakhidze said. “We have strong political and economic ties and are committed to further strengthening cooperation in all areas. Several major UAE companies are successfully operating in Georgia, and a key investment agreement with Eagle Hills and EMAAR has been signed, paving the way for further economic activity. We also value collaboration on the development of Tbilisi’s dry port. Your visit lays a firm foundation for continued productive cooperation.”
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed highlighted the growing trade relations and shared commitment to peace and stability. “I am very happy to visit Georgia and continue our cooperation following our meeting in Abu Dhabi. Our partnership is expanding across trade, business, economy, industry, and energy, with projects worth millions of dollars. The UAE will support these initiatives, strengthening ties between our countries and promoting stability, peace, and shared interests,” he said.
The expanded-format meeting at the Government Administration included members of both countries’ cabinets. Following the discussions, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili and Eagle Hills Group founder and chairman Mohamed Alabarm exchanged agreements for two large-scale investment projects in Georgia, valued at $6 billion in total.
The agreements envisage significant development across real estate, infrastructure, and economic sectors, further cementing UAE investment in Georgia. Prime Minister Kobakhidze and Sheikh Mohamed attended the official document exchange ceremony.
