Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze asserted in an Imedi LIVE interview that the October 26 elections were conducted fairly and that any party or organization is welcome to verify the results independently. Emphasizing transparency, he stated, “We are completely open—anyone can conduct their own checks if they wish.”

Kobakhidze highlighted that official investigations, verification, and reviews are the responsibility of state institutions, underscoring Georgia’s status as a fully functioning state.“All must accept that Georgia is a sovereign state with legitimate institutions responsible for investigations, checks, and verifications,” he added.

The PM also referenced the parliamentary investigative committee established during the last session, where all parties and NGOs were invited to participate but ultimately declined. He suggested this decision implied acknowledgment of the elections’ legitimacy, as greater involvement would have underscored the election’s transparency.

“Many critics avoid a deeper investigation because they know they will find clean elections,” Kobakhidze said. He argued that if there were genuine doubts, these critics would be advocating for open inspection of voter lists and precincts instead of resisting verification efforts.
