Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to strengthening security and law-enforcement cooperation with Azerbaijan during a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov, who is on an official visit to Tbilisi. Kobakhidze emphasized that the long-standing partnership between the two countries’ interior ministries remained a key pillar of regional stability and bilateral strategic ties.

According to the Government Administration, the discussion underscored the “fruitful and enduring cooperation” between Georgia and Azerbaijan and outlined plans to further deepen their strategic partnership. Particular attention was given to the successful collaboration between law-enforcement agencies accumulated over many years.

During the visit, the two interior ministries signed a new agreement aimed at enhancing joint efforts in crime prevention, detection, and suppression - an accord officials said will further cement operational cooperation and institutional ties.

Talks also touched on the broader goal of ensuring stability and securing long-term peace in the region.

The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Geka Geladze, Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani, Georgia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zurab Pataradze, and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev.
