Georgian PM to attend COP29 climate conference in Baku

From November 11 to 13, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will participate in the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan. The information was released by the Government Administration.

Hosted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, COP29 will gather world leaders to address the humanitarian and economic impacts of climate change.

During the summit, PM Kobakhidze will hold a one-on-one meeting with President Aliyev and deliver remarks at the Leader’s Summit. He is also expected to join roundtable discussions focusing on strategies to reduce emissions and mitigate global warming’s severe impacts.

Kobakhidze will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Levan Davitashvili, Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, and Chief of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
