Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said the Government was intensifying its fight against organised crime, with 57 individuals prosecuted in the past three months for connections to the criminal underworld - compared to just two during the same period last year.

“This demonstrates the decisive measures we have taken. In all areas, we need an uncompromising fight against crime, and naturally, we will continue to take steps in this direction,” Kobakhidze said.

The Prime Minister said the Government remained committed to strengthening public safety and combating organised criminal networks.
