Georgia must make every effort to build partnerships with all actors where cooperation is possible and such partnerships should be based on clear principles, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in an interview with Night Courier.

Kobakhidze said Georgia should work to expand its international ties in all directions.

“We have clearly stated our position toward the United States and said that we are ready at any time to renew the strategic partnership, which was suspended by the previous US administration. We are ready to restore this partnership at any moment and to do so from a clean slate, based on a specific roadmap,” the Prime Minister said.

Speaking about relations with the European Union, Kobakhidze noted that Georgia is also ready to move forward immediately if the EU takes concrete steps.

“As for opening negotiations with the European Union, we have said that as soon as the documents are put on the table, we will sign them immediately. However, we do not hear a reciprocal response from the other side,” he added.
