Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, has said the government will present a plan aimed at reducing prices once a working commission finalises its proposals.

Kobakhidze on Tuesday said the commission is expected to complete its work this week, with further discussions to take place within the government next week before a final plan is presented to the public.

“Our task is to reduce prices as much as possible,” he said.

The prime minister rejected claims that prices are rising, describing such reports as inaccurate. He said inflationary pressures had in fact slowed, but added that the government was not satisfied with the current situation and would seek further improvements.
