Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized the strategic role of Georgia’s transit corridors in promoting regional stability and economic development during his address at the UN Conference. He underlined that landlocked countries gain reliable and efficient access to global markets through Georgia’s transport infrastructure, which also supports broader regional progress.
“Dear delegates, Georgia is not only thinking of itself. We are not just consumers — we are active participants in the global economic cycle,” Kobakhidze said. “Our strategic approach in the transit and trade sectors creates a stable and predictable environment not only for Georgia, but for the wider region.”
According to the Prime Minister, this model strengthens the resilience of global supply chains and plays a vital role in tackling the challenges landlocked developing countries face in accessing international trade routes.
“When landlocked countries are given secure and effective access to global markets via Georgia’s transit corridors, it elevates regional stability and supports economic development,” he added. “This is our contribution to the international community — a commitment to being a solution to the challenges faced by landlocked nations.”
Kobakhidze concluded by reaffirming Georgia’s unwavering commitment to being a partner, an opportunity, and a bridge for landlocked developing countries. He called on global partners to deepen cooperation and turn shared geographic challenges into engines of regional prosperity.
