Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has said trade between Georgia and Turkmenistan surpassed $100 million after growing by 26% last year, adding that the positive trend has continued in 2026.
Speaking at the opening of the second Georgia-Turkmenistan Business Forum in Tbilisi, Kobakhidze said the two countries had become stable and reliable trading partners, while stressing that bilateral economic ties still fell short of their full potential.
“Today, Georgia and Turkmenistan are stable and reliable trading partners. Last year, trade turnover between our countries increased by 26% and exceeded 100 million US dollars. The positive dynamics have continued this year,” Kobakhidze said.
He added the figures demonstrated growing economic cooperation but argued that both countries should intensify efforts to expand trade, strengthen business ties and unlock further investment opportunities.
Kobakhidze also welcomed Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow, saying his state visit reflected the strategic importance of bilateral relations, and thanked the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for organising the business forum.
