Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has voiced high hopes for a reset in US-Georgia relations following the inauguration of US President Donald Trump. Speaking in an interview with a Hungarian political YouTube channel, Kobakhidze emphasized the need for strengthened ties after what he described as challenging years under the outgoing US administration.

“We look forward to the inauguration of the new U.S. president with great anticipation. There have been many challenges in US-Georgia relations over the past four years, and we sincerely hope that all misunderstandings will be left in the past under Donald Trump’s presidency,” Kobakhidze stated.

The Prime Minister underscored the Georgian government’s commitment to improving diplomatic ties with the US, describing the reset as a priority.

“Some representatives of the outgoing US administration have tried to complicate relations with Georgia and the region as a whole. Similar challenges were created in relations with Ukraine, and we see the same attempts being made with Georgia. However, we are keen to reset our relations with the United States. I am confident this will happen under President Trump’s administration,” Kobakhidze added.
