Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has criticized the opposition, accusing them of being in “self-liquidation mode” by refusing to acknowledge the will of the Georgian people, including their supporters.
Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze highlighted the strong voter turnout in support of the ruling Georgian Dream party during the elections.
“Over 1,120,000 voters supported Georgian Dream, despite significant external pressure, including sanctions and direct interference in the electoral process before and during the elections. Georgian society went to the polling stations and made their choice,” said Kobakhidze.
He added that the opposition’s refusal to accept the election results reflects their loss of public trust.
“Self-liquidation means losing the trust of society. The only ones in self-destruction mode are the opposition parties, who refuse to recognize the will of the Georgian people, including that of their own voters,” Kobakhidze asserted.
