PM Kobakhidze: Today’s election is referendum between war and peace

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized the importance of Georgia’s October 26 election, comparing it to the country’s 2012 elections, which marked a crucial shift in its democratic path.

Speaking at the 27th polling station after casting his vote, Kobakhidze called this election “a decisive referendum on the future direction of Georgia,” where the choice centers on peace versus conflict, traditional values versus divisive propaganda, and a bright future over a “dark past.”

“There are two main political forces in this election. One side calls us back to everything we must leave behind, while we offer a vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and forward-looking Georgia,” he stressed.
The prime minister expressed confidence in his party’s prospects, predicting that Georgian Dream would secure up to 60% of the popular vote.

“This support is essential for us to ensure stable, peaceful, and steady development for the country,” he remarked, underscoring the significance of the election in defining Georgia’s future trajectory.
