Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said the past year had been successful for the country despite challenges, citing the preservation of peace and stability as a key achievement.

Speaking at a Government meeting, Kobakhidze noted that the beginning of the year was marked by difficulties, but highlighted that maintaining stability was the result of collective efforts by state institutions.

“This year’s final Government meeting gives us an opportunity to summarise the past year, which can confidently be described as successful for our country. The start of the year was full of challenges, but we managed to preserve peace and stability and this was the result of the efforts of each and every one of you,” he said.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the successful conduct of local self-government elections, calling them crucial for the stable continuation of the country’s political life.

Kobakhidze added that, despite attempts to destabilise the situation during the year, the state responded appropriately, effectively, and humanely.

“This is our responsibility to our country and our people,” he said.
