Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has described Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić's trip to Tbilisi as a landmark visit, saying it marked a turning point in relations between the two countries.
Speaking at a joint briefing with Vučić on Tuesday, Kobakhidze noted that it was the first official presidential visit from Serbia to Georgia and said it would provide fresh momentum for bilateral cooperation.
"This is the first presidential visit by the Serbian side to our country, and it can be assessed as an event of transformative significance for our bilateral relations," the prime minister said.
Kobakhidze said Georgia and Serbia share long-standing ties based on friendship, mutual respect and people-to-people connections, as well as a common Christian heritage and shared values.
