Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday expressed gratitude to OSCE Secretary General Feridun Hadi Sinirlioğlu for his efforts in enhancing cooperation between Georgia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) during Sinirlioğlu’s official visit to Tbilisi.

“Our partnership is crucial for strengthening Georgia’s political stability and economic sustainability, as well as for encouraging regional cooperation and overcoming common global challenges,” said Kobakhidze.

The meeting focused on Georgia’s collaboration with the OSCE, regional security dynamics, and challenges facing the country. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to democratic principles, human rights, and the rule of law, the Georgian Government press office said.

Discussions also addressed the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. The Georgian side appreciated the OSCE’s co-chairmanship in the Geneva International Discussions and its participation in the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM). The government’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of conflicts and maintaining regional stability was emphasized.

Special attention was given to the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus region and Georgia’s efforts in this regard. Both sides highlighted the significance of the OSCE as a central platform for dialogue on European security architecture, the press office added.
