Kobakhidze said the government provided full information to the European Commission

Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has assured that the Kulevi oil terminal complied with international sanctions regulations and that Georgia was not expected to be included in the European Commission’s 20th sanctions package.

Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze said the government provided full information to the European Commission, confirming that Kulevi operated within the sanctions framework.

“We have provided the European Commission with complete information regarding Kulevi, which confirms that the sanctions regime is not being violated there. There is no fact of sanctions violation, and therefore we have reason to believe Georgia will not be included in this package. Including a strategic facility in sanctions would be harmful. What pleases Mikheil Saakashvili does not please the Georgian people. Exports have increased, and no sanctions rules are being broken. Oil products arrive, are processed, and then exported,” he said.
