Georgian PM, Council of Europe Secretary General, meet in Tbilisi

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Alain Berset, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, to discuss the ongoing cooperation between Georgia and the Council, the Government press office said.
During the meeting, Kobakhidze emphasized the significance of Berset’s visit and the Council’s role in supporting Georgia’s reforms and European integration process.
The Prime Minister underscored the longstanding partnership between Georgia and the Council of Europe, which has been active since the 1990s. “We had a very friendly, productive meeting. We talked about the ongoing processes in the country, the cooperation between Georgia and the Council of Europe. We agreed that this cooperation will continue in a close and active manner,” Kobakhidze said. He further highlighted that Berset’s personal involvement would be crucial to supporting Georgia’s progress on its European path.
The meeting also focused on the future direction of Georgia’s reforms and its continuous engagement with the Council of Europe. “We are confident that our country will have the personal support of Mr. Alain Berset in all directions,” Kobakhidze added.
The meeting was attended by Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani, and Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, Tamar Taliashvili.
