Georgian PM meets UN Resident Coordinator to discuss partnership

Special emphasis was placed on the UN’s role in supporting Georgia’s progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as broader social and economic development initiatives

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Didier Trebucq, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Georgia, to discuss the “long-standing cooperation” between the UN and the Georgian government.
The Government Administration said on Thursday the meeting had focused on the “productive partnership” that had developed over many years between the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office and Georgian state institutions. The two sides reviewed ongoing programmes and explored opportunities for deepening collaboration in various areas.
Special emphasis was placed on the UN’s role in supporting Georgia’s progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as broader social and economic development initiatives.
During the meeting, Kobakhidze expressed gratitude to the United Nations for its work in promoting the rights and welfare of conflict-affected communities in Georgia.
