Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze held a meeting with Permanent Representatives of various countries accredited to the United Nations, focusing on the country’s economic potential and international cooperation.

The discussions centered on Georgia’s economic and investment opportunities, with the Prime Minister stressing that peace and stability in the country served as key foundations for sustainable development, the government press office said on Thursday.

He also underscored the importance of cooperation and dialogue within multilateral formats, particularly amid increasing global security challenges.

The meeting also addressed the longstanding partnership between Georgia and the United Nations. Particular attention was paid to the annual resolution initiated by Georgia - concerning the status of internally displaced persons and refugees from Russian-occupied Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region - adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.

During the talks, Kobakhidze highlighted the government’s peace policy and expressed gratitude to UN member states for their continued support of Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-recognition policy.
