PM Kobakhidze meets newly appointed Georgian Ambassadors to Germany, Czech Republic

Kobakhidze congratulated the diplomats on the start of their diplomatic missions and wished them success in representing Georgia abroad

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with the country’s newly appointed ambassadors to Germany and the Czech Republic, Aleksandre Kartozia and Ruslan Abashidze, the Government Administration reported on Monday.
During the meeting, Kobakhidze congratulated the diplomats on the start of their diplomatic missions and wished them success in representing Georgia abroad.
Kartozia, appointed Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, has extensive experience in public service. Over the years, he has served as Georgia’s Minister of Education and Director of the National Parliamentary Library. He has also held leading academic positions at Georgian State University and lectured at major universities in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Bremen.
Abashidze, appointed Ambassador to the Czech Republic, has been with the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1996. He previously served as Georgia’s Ambassador to Estonia (2009–2013) and as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary with Special Assignments (2013–2015). Over the years, Abashidze has also held senior positions including First Deputy Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.
