Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said the Government’s goal was to rank Georgia among the top three countries in Europe for the lowest levels of corruption.

Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze stressed that recent reforms and ongoing efforts make this target realistic.

“We want to rank among Europe’s top three in terms of low corruption. With the steps already taken and those still ahead, this goal is absolutely achievable,” he said.

The Prime Minister noted the Government continues to fight corruption in all directions, which includes reforms in state institutions as well as the investigation of alleged violations.

“Beyond changes introduced in Government operations and the work of state structures, we are also taking measures to investigate every possible offence. The active fight against corruption will continue in all areas,” Kobakhidze added.
