Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday reaffirmed Georgia’s commitment to supporting peace and stability in the South Caucasus, highlighting the country’s “active role” in facilitating cooperation between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Speaking at a joint press briefing with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Kobakhidze expressed gratitude to Pashinyan for his personal contribution to deepening friendship and cooperation between Georgia and Armenia.

“We are pleased with the very positive momentum in regional cooperation. Today, at the intergovernmental commission meeting, we highlighted the signing of the historic peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. These positive developments create a strong foundation for ensuring stability and peace in our region. In this context, I want to emphasize Georgia’s readiness to actively support regional peace and stability. Georgia will spare no effort in this regard,” Kobakhidze said.

The Georgian Prime Minister described the bilateral partnership with Armenia as exemplary and stressed the responsibility of both countries to further strengthen collaboration across political, economic, educational, cultural, and sports sectors.

“Today we reviewed various items on our bilateral agenda, covering political and economic cooperation as well as educational, cultural, and sports exchanges. Despite the already high level of our relations, there is significant potential to deepen this partnership in all areas,” he said.

Kobakhidze also highlighted the “strong trade and economic ties” between Georgia and Armenia.

“Armenia ranks among Georgia’s top ten trading partners. In terms of tourism and visitor exchanges, Armenia is in the top three. This growing interest from Georgian citizens to visit Armenia is highly valuable, and we will continue to facilitate and strengthen cooperation between our countries in these areas,” he added.
