Pre-sales of apartments in the Eagle Hills project in Krtsanisi, central Tbilisi, have begun, with 257 units sold so far, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on Thursday, noting that 147 were purchased by Georgian citizens and 110 by foreigners.
Kobakhidze stressed that only eight units were bought by citizens of Arab countries, dismissing claims by the opposition about a supposed “Arabization” of the area.
“The opposition predicted that all apartments would be sold to Arabs, but that process has failed from the start,” he said.
He also highlighted the affordability of the apartments, with initial prices starting at $1,650 per renovated unit, far below the $15,000 figure cited by opposition critics. Kobakhidze argued that the project was an unprecedented investment for Georgia, adding 11 billion lari to the economy and generating around 700 million lari annually for the budget.
“This investment will also support tourism and overall economic development, ultimately benefiting the wellbeing of our citizens,” he said.
