Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said while there was sufficient time for the OSCE/ODIHR mission to observe Georgia’s elections, he understood that the organisation’s motivation to participate was low due to past challenges in the country.

“For example, in Czechia, the mission was invited one month prior. In Georgia, during the 2008 presidential elections, the mission was invited on December 6, 2007, for elections held on January 5, 2008. So, there is no reason for speculation. There was enough time for the OSCE/ODIHR to come,” Kobakhidze said.

He added, however, that considering the “insults and countless difficulties” the mission experienced in Georgia previously, it was understandable their motivation was not particularly high.
